I-Militance has released two new singles, “Conscious Arising” and “Vampires Of The Night”, for the summer season, with more coming along the way.
“I was fortunate to be able to perform these tunes a few times out a road, get feedback and strengthen them before getting into the studio. Like the traditional approach, bands working on material in the club for their fans to lock down everything before recording in studio. The feedback has been all positive, so me know the tunes have to connect.”
Getting the message to connect is no wonder with tunes like “Vampires Of The Night”, which takes on the epidemic of skin bleaching and self-hatred with the Black community across the diaspora. In “Conscious Arising”, he speaks to the growing consciousness awakening in people daily, the unstoppable “currents of information” that “ignite the fire that the youth a bun” on politicians, corporations and the others in power.
“Conscious Arising” was produced by frequent collaborators Cliff Bond and Dubble-0-7 Band on the “Don’t You Ever” riddim (which features Empress Asha), while “Vampires” is on the Black Starliner riddim produced by Caveman.
